Let's Talk About Safety: The Real Science Behind Our Amber Glassware
By tianyuliHey there! We know you guys love the vintage amber look of our SOLA & SIENNA, but let’s be real—when it comes to cooking for your family, looks aren't everything. You need to know: Is it actually safe to use?
The "Ingredient List" of Our High Borosilicate Glass
To give you total peace of mind, we recently sent our glassware to an independent lab for testing. We want to be 100% transparent with you. Instead of just saying it's safe, let's look at the actual "ingredient list" of our glass straight from the lab report:
-
78.27% Silicon Dioxide (SiO₂): This is the foundation that makes our glass incredibly strong and durable.
-
12.89% Boric Oxide (B₂O₃): The magic ingredient! This gives the glass its heat-resistant superpower.
-
<0.01% Lead (PbO) & Cadmium (CdO): Basically non-existent. Zero nasty toxins leaching into your food!
The Truth About Temperatures (How to keep your glass safe)
Because of that high borosilicate magic we just mentioned, our glass casserole dishes can survive extreme temperatures ranging from a freezing -4°F to a roasting 752°F (-20°C to 400°C).
But here is a very important kitchen rule we want to share: Glass hates sudden shocks. Our products can safely handle a sudden temperature change of up to 212°F (100°C).
What does this mean for your everyday cooking? It means please do not take a frozen dish straight out of the freezer and throw it directly into a pre-heated 400°F oven. Always let your glass warm up to room temperature first before baking. Treat it with a little love, and it will last you for years!
Behind the Scenes: Forged in Fire
Don't just take our word for it. Want to see how tough our high borosilicate glass really is? Here is a raw, behind-the-scenes look at our production line. Every single piece of SOLA & SIENNA glassware is forged and tempered under extreme, direct flames before it ever reaches your kitchen. This is why it handles your oven with zero stress!
No Leftover Smells or Stains
Borosilicate glass is non-porous. So, whether you're making a spicy curry or a sweet fruit crumble, the glass won't hold onto any colors or odors. Just wash it, and it's as fresh as new!
